Dear Members and Friends
I am taking the opportunity today while it is raining to keep you informed about what’s happening in the season ahead.
As you know we recently held our annual domino afternoon and once again we had a very good attendance. There was lots of fun and banter in the 20 exiting rounds played. The eventual winner was Carole Hendry from Motherwell receiving the Low Briary Sam Trophy with John Reid a very close second.
Our event dates for 2024 are as follows:
May 4 th & 5th Bladnoch Park, Wigtown
May 18th & 19th Dalmakerran, Tynron, Thornhill
June 8 th & 9th Collin Dumfries. (exact location nearer the time)
July20th & 21st Low Kirkbride, Auldgirth, Dumfries
August 17th &18th Nether Stenries, Carrutherstown, Dumfries
September 7th & 8th Milnecroft, Lockerbie
As discussed at the AGM we planned to keep the same dressage tests as last year providing they stayed on British Carriage Driving’s list of tests. I am pleased to confirm that the tests remain the same as last year, NOVICE A for Juniors, beginners, Novice, and VSE; NOVICE B For Open and multiples. Anyone doing the field class will drive the test for their category. Insufficient entries in the above classes will be amalgamated.
Membership Fees for 2024 remain the same:
Driving members £30.00
Junior members £20.00
Supporting members £12.00
If you are a member of BC please let me have your membership No. and category.
Memberships are now due to be paid. Please send them to Pat Gillan Mossburn Wigtown DG8 6BE
The SWSHDC and Dumfries and Galloway club are once again working together and offering members entry fees at the lower fee and charging the non member fee when you visit each club.
The event schedule will be sent out next month
Looking forward to the new season starting
